Israel-Gaza Conflict| India Launches 'Operation Ajay' for Repatriating Indians From Israel
In response to the escalating conflict with the Hamas group in Gaza, India has initiated Operation Ajay to ensure the safe return of its citizens from Israel, where approximately 18,000 Indians are currently residing.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar conveyed the government's commitment to the safety and well-being of Indian nationals abroad, announcing the implementation of special charter flights and other logistical arrangements for the evacuation.
Hamas has released a video showing two Israeli hostages held in GazaāElkana Bohbot and Yosef Haim Ohana, both abducted on October 7, 2023. In the footage, Bohbot appears weak and unresponsive, while Ohana urges the Israeli government to end the war and secure their release. Families of the hostages are demanding urgent action, criticizing the government for not doing enough. Outside Israelās Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv, protesters held signs reading āWe Can Save the Restā and āAll of Them Now,ā as tensions over the stalled hostage deal intensify.

A massive wildfire has broken out between Nazareth and Yafa an-Naseriyye in northern Israel, rapidly spreading due to intense heat, dry vegetation, and strong winds. The blaze, which threatened residential neighborhoods, agricultural lands, and commercial zones, prompted an urgent emergency response.
Over 11 firefighting teams and three aircraft were deployed to battle the flames from both ground and air. Israel Police joined efforts to evacuate roads and safeguard critical infrastructure.
